I'd like to provide you with a little background information on myself: I'm a Honorably Discharged United States Marine, I currently have 14 years Federal Law Enforcement experience in the Corrections Field, I have my DOJ / FBOP Firearms Instructor Certification, NRA Basic Pistol Instructor, NRA Personal Protection in the Home Instructor, NRA Range Safety Officer Certified, Massachusetts State Police Basic Firearms Safety Instructor, Massachusetts LEOSA Re-Certification Instructor. 

My father was a Career Law Enforcement Officer, we spent hours together at the range, he taught me that handguns are to be respected not feared and safety is number one ! This class is the NRA Basic Pistol Course with "Live Fire"  Once completed, you will recieve the required Massachusetts State Police Certificate, this certificate needs to be submitted with your application to your licensing authority in your City / Town. This course is approved for the Massachusetts License to Carry (LTC) A, B or Firearms Identification (FID) Cards.

You will also receive a NRA Certificate.

The course takes approximately 8 hrs.

These courses are being held in Gardner, Massachusetts.

Once the Course is completed, each student will be able too;

Identify the principle parts of a handgun, types of actions.
Identify the rules for safe handling of handguns and ammunition.
Identify the basic responsibilities of safe handgun ownership and use.
Identify basic firearms laws relating to handgun ownership, carrying and use.
Identify how to safely store handguns and ammunition.
Identify methods of childproofing and securing handguns
Safely load, unload, fire a semi-automatic handgun and revolver.
Basic cleaning.
Basic marksmanship.

Seating is limited to 10 students per course to allow safe and proper completion of the Course Objectives set forth by the Massachusetts State Police for Approved Courses, NRA Basic Pistol - LTC-002, NRA Personal Protection in the Home - LTC-003

                                                                                        NRA BASIC PISTOL CLASS  -  "LIVE FIRE" 

The Cost for the NRA Basic Pistol Class is $125.00 per student, a $75.00 ( *Non refundable ) deposit is required within 1 week prior to a scheduled class, to secure your seat, so that class lesson plans and supplies can be ordered. The balance due, must be paid in full on the day of the class.

A written test, basic safety knowledge and safe firing of handguns is required.

ALL ammunition and handguns will be provided, DO NOT BRING HANDGUNS OR AMMUNITION TO THE CLASS !

                                                                           NRA PERSONAL PROTECTION IN THE HOME  -  "LIVE FIRE"

** Please note, the NRA Personal Protection in the Home Class is an "Advanced Class", the student must be able to provide documentation (Certificates or LTC) showing pistol knowledge. This class involves advanced shooting cycles designed for the student who has experience handling a pistol. If proof of experience is not provided, the student will not be allowed to take the class, forfeiting their deposit (*see non refundable deposits below)

The Cost for the NRA Personal Protection in the Home Class $175.00 (if you have your own equipment, pistol, holster, ammunition, eyes and ears protection) $225.00, if the required equipment is provided. A $125.00 ( *Non refundable ) deposit is required within 1 week prior to a scheduled class, to secure your seat, so that class lesson plans and supplies can be ordered. The balance due, must be paid in full on the day of the class.

Subjects covered but not limited too, during the Personal Protection in the Home Class;

Massachusetts Law with respect to discharging a firearm in the home.
Making you, your family and your home safer.
Awareness levels.
Responding to a possible break-in.
Avoiding a confrontation.
Confronting an attacker.
If you shoot and the aftermath of a "Defensive Shooting"

A written test, advanced safety knowledge and advanced firing of the handgun is required.

Personal Checks and Money Orders are accepted with a $25.00 service charge added for all returned checks.
